MR MURRAY THOMAS

Murray has served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles in a range of international settings. His focus sits squarely on ensuring students receive a balanced education that looks after their spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing alongside their academic progress. He has been an active coach, drawing on his experience in the Scouting movement and programmes such as Round Square and the International Youth Award. He served a number years in various School leadership positions in South Africa. His seven year tenure at Lebone College of the Royal Bafokeng, cemented his love of diversity within the education arena. Murray joined his current employer, Misk Schools, in 2019. 

 

After completing a year of Bible College, Murray graduated with a BA Hons in History from Rhodes University. He was awarded the Abe Bailey Travel Scholarship after completing his post-graduate Certificate in Education (HDE) in 1993. He was an NEASC and CIS accreditation team member from 2005-2007 and part of the host team for the 2016 Global Teachers’ Institute at the University of Witwatersrand. He holds an MSc in Comparative and International Education from Oxford University. Murray is married to Joanne, they have three sons: Scott (19),  Kyle (18) and Roan (15).
